About Odaboh
Farewell, but never gone.
The name Odaboh (Ó dàbọ̀) means "goodbye" or "until we meet again" in Yoruba — reframing departure not as an absolute end, but as an ongoing connection of memory, heritage, and community care.
Our Story & Purpose
Odaboh was born out of a profound cultural need within Black and African communities across the diaspora and the continent. For generations, the passing of our loved ones has been met with quiet grief, hidden health records, and unspoken questions. Too often, we don't know the cause of death — or when we do, social taboos prevent us from sharing it.
Odaboh breaks that silence. We are a digital sanctuary designed to preserve precious family memories while transforming grief into life-saving health awareness for generations to come.
Reframing Mourning: A Celebration of Life
In West African tradition, passing on after a meaningful life is not just a tragedy — it is a Celebration of Life. Odaboh honors this legacy by providing an interactive space where memories remain vibrant.

Advancing Black & African Public Health Equity
Behind every memorial page is an opportunity to protect the living.
